By most people’s standards, David Taylor was living a dream life. He was the starting left tackle for the NFL Baltimore Colts. On the surface, it all looked very good. But, David knew life was ready to push him up against the wall. I felt like I was a walking time-bomb,” says David. “I didn’t know how long my football career would last. I had already had two knee surgeries. And though I was making what I thought was a good salary, it was nothing like the professional football salaries that are being handed out today. I had no security.”
David knew there was more to life than what he was experiencing. He just didn’t know what or how to make it happen. That’s when a friend showed him a way to start a small business in his spare time and in the off-season. “This opportunity came into my life at the perfect time,” says David. “I was looking down the road, beyond my football career, for a way to create a good income, as well as for a way to do something meaningful with my life.”
In just a few years, when David’s football career with the Colts ended, he was able to walk away from football and step into his part-time business, full-time. “Football was all-consuming, from high school to college and then in the pros. But one thing it taught me was the value of teamwork, of having a great coach, of working together toward a victory. In my own business, I found coaches who could walk me through my challenges, and other business owners who would band together to help each other. As a successful entrepreneur, it’s been incredible to act as a coach for others in turn, and pass on what was taught to me in my business. Many other people have benefited as a result of my efforts.”
As David has achieved success in his business, he also gives his time and energy to support worthwhile local charities. He is especially active supporting Easter Seals and the U.S. Dream Academy due to the programs these organizations have developed to meet the needs of children and returning veterans. David truly understand the value of helping others and has made it a priority in his life.
Living today near St. Petersburg, Florida, David enjoys a lifestyle that has allowed him the freedom to travel around the world, and to spend more time with his wife Mia, his two children and grandchildren. “I love this business and the people, and I am so proud to share this opportunity with others. It is well worth the effort!”
